Scotland’s writer support social enterprise, independent publishing house, and Community Reading Room – dedicated to creating and developing access to creation and publication for marginalised writers and to supporting Scotland’s rich population of creative freelancers
Mission & Values
Pluto Q is a social enterprise operating for the community benefit of marginalised writers and creative freelancers.
We aim to make writing accessible and celebrate the diversity of perspective which comes from the voices that are most often excluded from dominant cultural conversations.
Through this, we hope to increase the overall diversity and inclusivity of the Scottish arts sector.

Writer Services
We offer editing, proofreading, and “witchwriting” (our ethical alternative to ghostwriting) to writers facing barriers to publication and professional practice.
We can help with getting your original ideas out of your head and onto paper, writing funding applications, communicating effectively with collaborators, formatting your manuscripts, entering competitions, querying agents, navigating self-publishing, and so much more!
Community Reading Room
From job applications to PhDs, your latest fanfiction to the next international bestseller – whatever you’re writing, our free, accessible community venue is a great place to do it!
Our venue will be open to the public from Wednesday 11th September 2024.
In addition to our open-plan Reading Room, we have a number of smaller spaces suitable for different activities.
